The Ergo Lite 2 SP is for the person who wants to get themselves about under their own steam but still needs a chair someone can pick up one-handed. It is the self-propel version of the world’s best-selling lightweight travel wheelchair — Karma’s own words for it are that its “practicality and portability are best-in-class”.
The one thing it does better: almost every self-propel wheelchair pays for its big rear wheels in weight. This one does not. At 10.7kg all-in, with tool-free quick-release rear wheels that drop the heaviest remaining part to 6.7kg, it is the lightest genuinely self-propelling chair most people will ever handle.
Who it suits
- Someone who can push themselves on the flat but cannot walk far
- A carer who has to load the chair into a car boot alone, several times a day
- Anyone travelling — it folds small and comes apart without tools
